SUMMARY:National Bank of Belgium - Counter Hall and Printing Office
DESCRIPTION:Marcel Van Goethem1940-57/1950NL – Aansluitend met de ontwikkeling van de Noord-Zuidverbinding engageerde de Nationale Bank van België zich om haar nieuwe kantoren op te trekken aan de Berlaimontlaan. De Lokettenzaal en de ertegenover liggende industriële drukkerij zijn ontworpen door architect Marcel Van Goethem en waren ondergronds met elkaar verbonden. De monumentale Lokettenzaal staat\, met haar licht gewelfd glazen plafond\, in sterk contrast met de strenge gevel. De drukkerij werd verkocht en zal in de toekomst een gemengde functie krijgen van wonen\, werken en ontspannen. In afwachting van de renovatie krijgt de Brusselse organisatie Pali Pali de sleutels van het gebouw.FR – À l’occasion du développement de la Jonction Nord-Midi\, la Banque Nationale s’est fait construire de nouveaux bureaux sur le boulevard de Berlaimont. La monumentale salle des guichets et l’imprimerie\, en vis-à-vis\, ont été conçues par l’architecte Marcel Van Goethem et étaient connectées par un passage souterrain. La première\, avec son plafond en verre délicatement cintré\, contraste avec la sévérité de la façade. Depuis\, l’imprimerie a été revendue et\, dans le futur\, elle accueillera un programme mixte de logements\, bureaux et équipements de loisir. En attendant le début des travaux de rénovation\, l’organisation bruxelloise Pali Pali y anime une occupation temporaire.EN – Following the development of the North-South junction\, the National Bank of Belgium committed itself to building its new offices on boulevard de Berlaimontlaan. The Printing Office was sold and will in the future have a mixed function as living\, working and relaxing accommodations.
